McNabb Ranch Limited is a self-sufficient 450 head cow-calf ranch located East of the Cypress Hills and north of Eastend SK.  This company sale includes 4400 acres of deeded land of which 2000 acres are cultivated, over 500 head of breeding cattle, and all associated machinery, buildings and handling equipment.  The sellers are progressive, educated, and meticulous which shows in their management, planning, maintenance, and execution.  This means that their ranch is a poster worthy example of a Verified Beef operation from the well managed grass to the fences and handling systems and of course the record keeping.   The Ranch is also qualified for the McDonald’s Canada Verified Sustainable Beef program. 

The cattle operation is based on 450 m/l Red Angus cross cows and Beefbooster bulls.  Calving starts in mid April and the calves weaned in the fall and backgrounded to 900lbs on a silage-based ration.  Top-notch handling facilities include a processing building with a new custom-built hydraulic squeeze.  The feedyard is modern with engineered drainage and dikes and an Intensive Livestock Operation permit for 500 head. Bone Creek runs through part of the Ranch and there are several springs and 6 dugouts so water is abundant.  Fences are good and a detailed grazing plan has kept the grass in great shape.  Grazing went until Dec 15 in 2017.  Bale grazing plots are set up and cow feeding amounted to a quad ride and moving the wire. 

The land is all located nearby.  While most is dedicated to feed production the opportunity is there to cash crop up to 320 acres. The higher elevation keeps it cooler in summer and it can benefit from more moisture summer and winter.  Good quality farmland is in a dark brown soil zone. 

Machinery highlights include a tracked Cat CH65farm tractor, 42 ft Seedhawk air drill, 2013 NH 6070 Bidirectional, JD 9610 Combine, Hesston 30’ swather with disc mower header,  and an Apache high-clearance sprayer. All are well maintained in detail with the help of a 54 X 48 heated shop with in-floor heat.

The 3000 sq ft house has beautiful custom cabinets, partial in floor heat and a terrific deck in a well-manicured yard of mature pines and perennials.  There is an attached 2-car garage and a huge porch.
