As said above, the St. Ann Ranch Country Inn is selling. Located near Trochu, on 16.26 acres, this original pioneer settlement was founded by five French aristocrats, led by Armand Trochu himself. It seems that Trochu had a vision to create a town that would rival the likes of Calgary back in 1905. Trochu’s goal was to establish a ranching centre that would host French patriots and eventually welcome visitors to the area. It started with a horse breeding business and eventually the area housed all the makings of a small pioneer town. Ernest Frere who was one of the original 5 partners, took possession of the property around 1930. The property has remained in the family since that time. The classic Queen Anne style main house which is called the Devilder House is from 1903 +/- and various renovations have been done over the years.
